Byron's main skill is mixing 1) what customers say 2) sly humor and 3) green M&M's and turning that flammable mixture into beautiful and useful websites.
He enjoys being responsible for listening to clients, asking them a boatload of questions to both help them clarify what they want and why, and to turn those wants into instructions for himself and other developers. He also likes documenting and refining what we do; it seems that for each new client we get or problem we face, he creates or updates our documentation to clarify what exactly to do, making it much easier for us to work with clients so they can reliably get what they need and want in a timely fashion.
How he got here:
- earned a B.A. in History (between summers of lifeguarding) from the University of Pittsburgh
- then worked in education (Special Ed., primary and high-school)
- then moved into software training (MS office suite, Sharepoint, Photoshop)
- got intrigued with Open Source and taught himself Joomla (I'm better now) and Drupal/CiviCRM
