Solutions CRM Implementation, Strategy Technology Salesforce Scenario Desert Botanical Garden is a large organization with over 220 employees, 140 acres, and 50,000 plant displays. All of their ticketing, membership, and fundraising operations were being run out of slow, complicated, out of date systems, with only a couple of people able to make updates or run reports. They knew it was time for a better solution and were considering Salesforce as their new CRM, but needed help thinking through what that would mean for all the other critical systems and how to bring it all together. Solution BackOffice Thinking led a Technology Assessment project to confirm Salesforce would be a good fit for the Garden. The assessment included identifying a suite of other tools to seamlessly integrate and replace many of the Garden’s existing siloed systems. We then created a multi-phase implementation strategy that prioritized the organization’s most critical needs, while including time for the team to learn new systems and adapt to operational changes. Success The new connected systems have become the basis of the Garden’s “mission delivery platform.” Visitors follow an easier purchase path for tickets and memberships, and enjoy much faster customer service. Staff have direct access to key reports that give new insights into patron relationships. With all data feeding into Salesforce as the central CRM and “source of truth,” organization-wide decision-making can be data-driven and strategic in ways that seemed impossible before.
