Do you have a #GivingTuesday Campaign?

Do you have a Giving Tuesday campaign? If not,now is the time to start thinking about it.  Otherwise, you might be losing out on the additional donations and benefits experienced by organizations that participate in this movement.
Giving Tuesday is going into its 3rd year.  Since its inception in 2011, there's been a 270% increase in the volume of online donations on that day, plus organizations that are participating in this movement have seen a 40% year over year increase in the dollar value of their average donation.  Check out my Infographic with stats that will encourage most nonprofits to participate in this movement.
What is Giving Tuesday?
Giving Tuesday is a movement that was started by the New York 92nd Street Y to kick off their giving season.  They modeled Giving Tuesday after the success of Black Friday and Cyber Monday and wanted to harness that same passion and consumer shopping success to benefit the philantrophic sector.  Giving Tuesday celebrates individuals and corporations giving back in the form of donations, volunteerism, and awareness creation.  Organizations from 40 countries and over 10,000 organizations are currently participating in this movement.

When is Giving Tuesday?

Dec. 2, 2014 (Tuesday after Cyber Monday)

How do I participate?

All you need is to have an initiative that is being promoted with the #GivingTuesday hashtag.  Since December makes up, on average, 28% of nonprofits’ yearly fundraising efforts, #GivingTuesday should be part of your fundraising strategy.
