January 3rd marked my first full year serving an incredibly diverse array of nonprofit organizations as part of the BackOffice Thinking team. In that year I’ve had the pleasure of personally working with over 20 nonprofits! BackOffice, as a whole, worked with over 100 nonprofits in 2017 from across the US and Canada.
I’ve always enjoyed participating with nonprofit organizations to bring about change, from leading groups with inner-city youth programs to data entry for trafficking awareness. Now, every day I get to partner with organizations by conserving land across our beautiful country, searching for a cure or providing relief to ailing patients, assisting low-income families, the elderly, and much more.
Yes, I work with important data, objects, and workflows in my job, but most of all I love building relationships with the staff at each organization, and seeing how everyone has a takeaway from a project:
- The organization takes away a customized Salesforce instance, maybe with the LOCATE App (if they’re a Land Trust) to streamline the management of data and prepare for the future.
- Staff (you!) take away Trailhead Badges to prove awesome new Salesforce skills.
- Lastly, I takeaway the challenges nonprofits face and the dedication staff have to their mission, inspiring me with renewed energy to creatively approach the next project.
I can’t wait to meet many new people and continue working with friends old and new to solve data and process challenges. Here’s to a fantastic 2018!
