Salesforce Data Backups Are Being Discontinued

As of July 31, 2020, Salesforce will stop offering its Data Recovery as a paid service.  This service currently allows clients to contact Salesforce Support should they need to recover data in case it was permanently deleted by mistake or distorted during a migration or importing process.  Since this process takes a minimum of 6-8 weeks to complete and the process is not 100% reliable, Salesforce will discontinue this service as of July 31, 2020.

Salesforce has some recommendations you can perform on a regular basis:

  • Data Export ServiceManual or scheduled exports of your data via the UI
  • Data LoaderManual on-demand exports of your data via the API.
  • Report ExportManual on-demand exports of your data via reports.

BackOffice Thinking recognizes the importance of having the ability to backup your information on a regular basis but it also understands that not every organization has the skill nor the bandwidth to do this. In light of this, we are in the process of coming up with different service levels that can help you in this area.  Please stay tuned as we hope to have more details on how we can help you in the coming weeks.

If you already know that this is something you’ll need help with, please email to be put in our list.  Once we have finalized the details for our service offerings, one of our specialists will contact you and guide you through our plans.
